Negros Oriental is known for Dumaguete, the City of Gentle People, and its other iconic locations. However, there’s more to explore on this island.
What I love about this place is its versatility, making it perfect for lovers of the beach and mountains. The scenery of the sea are one of the things that make Negros Oriental captivating.
There are other locations and must visit spots in other parts of Negros Oriental. Despite having a longer distance from the city, there are other towns that bring in the island charm.

Valencia
For a change of scenery, Valencia offers a cool, mountainous vibe with stunning views of lush forests. What I love about this area is that it offers a different kind of escape that shows a great combination for mountain lovers who still want the tropical vibes.
Whenever I’m there, I love to take a sip of coffee in the typically cool weather and buy food at the Valencia Sunday Market. There are places to explore such as the World War II Museum and the Filipino-Japanese Amity Memorial Shrine.

You can also take an active hike to Casaroro Falls or take a refreshing dip at Pulangbato Falls, both surrounded by nature’s beauty and the soothing sight of cascading waters.
Dauin
Perfect for those seeking high-quality diving and snorkeling experiences, its beaches are filled with beautiful corals. Dive into the crystal-clear waters to witness the marine life at Apo Island and unwind with beachfront dining. Dauin offers a blend of adventure and relaxation.

Zamboanguita
Just an hour and a half from Wuthering Heights B&B by the Sea, Zamboanguita is known for its beaches and stunning marine life.
This town is a gateway to unforgettable underwater adventures. Divers and snorkelers will love exploring the vibrant coral reefs, while beach lovers can unwind on its quiet shores.
Zamboanguita also offers a taste of local life with its weekend markets and scenic coastal roads. Whether you're up for an ocean adventure or simply want to soak in the sun, this laid-back town is a must-visit.
Bayawan
If you're looking for a full-day trip into nature, Bayawan is the perfect escape. Located two hours from Wuthering Heights B&B by the Sea, this town offers a slower pace of life, beaches, and a strong connection to nature.
One of Bayawan’s highlights is its vast nature reserve, a haven for wildlife and outdoor enthusiasts. This place is also known for its waterfalls, offering another layer of adventure for nature lovers. It’s a great place to explore, but visitors need to book ahead through the nature reserves' Facebook page or email to ensure a smooth trip.
The town’s coastal areas also provide a peaceful retreat, perfect for long beach walks and quiet moments by the sea. With its rural charm, Bayawan offers a deeper appreciation for Negros Oriental’s diverse landscapes.
