Manjuyod Sandbar is one of the first places that comes to mind when I think of exciting adventures in Negros Oriental. Just 15 minutes off the coast of Bais City, this stunning strip of pristine white sand emerges during specific hours, offering visitors a glimpse of paradise.
I’ve been there a couple of times with my family and friends. Growing up, it became our go-to spot for big gatherings and fun reunions. From my childhood visits to the person I am today, the impression this place leaves on me has never changed.
From my first time to the most recent one (which was last year), I appreciated everything—from the scenic road trips from Wuthering Heights B&B by the Sea to Bais City, to the boat rides to the sandbar, the iconic stilt cottages, and the breathtaking views of nature and white sands.
Another moment I loved was hanging out in the stilt cottages with my relatives and family friends during the summer of 2018. We had a boodle fight with an abundance of fresh seafood, leaving me completely stuffed! I snorkeled and swam during high tide, then relaxed and soaked up the sun.
The setting was perfect for sharing drinks and conversations. Even during other visits when I didn’t stay in the stilt cottages, simply relaxing and eating on the boat made for a fantastic experience.
The Thrill of Dolphin Watching
Aside from exploring the sandbar, another highlight I never miss is dolphin watching. The excitement lies in the thrill of spotting and chasing these playful creatures. Every time I visit, I’m treated to the sight of dolphins’ fins gracefully popping out of nowhere.
Watching them is always a joy for me. I still hope to witness the rare occasion of a dolphin leaping majestically out of the water. Some lucky tourists have shared stories of seeing this happen.
A Great Spot for Big or Small Celebrations
Manjuyod Sandbar is more than just a beach trip destination for me—it’s a place where I create meaningful moments with loved ones. From spotting small sea creatures to glimpsing majestic dolphins, this destination deepens my appreciation of nature.
When I think of Manjuyod, I picture fond memories of family activities: relatives clinging to a banana boat, or someone paddling over to buy drinks from the sari-sari boats that float nearby.
Whether the occasion is someone wanting to go to this place for the first time to celebratory gatherings, Manjuyod Sandbar makes every gathering unforgettable because of its unique seascape and charm.
